Wilburn Elementary is a PBIS school. PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Support. PBIS encourages students to make positive behavior choices. Our program teaches students to follow expectations and rewards positive behavior.
Here at Wilburn, we use the acronym PAWS to explain our school-wide expectations.
PAWS means:
Practice self-control
Act responsibility
Work for success
Show respect
Please talk with your children about “PAWS” when at school. Students will get the opportunity to earn DOJO points throughout the day from their classroom teachers and other teachers in school when showing PAWS. Students will get to cash in their points weekly to earn rewards in Mrs. Connelly's classroom for their positive behavior. Students also have a daily as well that is in their D.O.T. folder. Please make sure you are going over their behavior daily and reinforcing positive behavior.
